Summertime is the best time of year.  Front porch swings, iced tea, lemonade, watermelon, backyard grill-outs, and days spent by the pool or on the beach.
I have a special romance for Fourth of July parades and seeing little kiddos being pushed in their red Radio Flyers, with American flag sticks in their hands, and their dogs marching alongside them.  I like the fireworks, picnics, popsicles, and cuddling on a blanket next to my husband waiting for the evening show to begin.   This year is very special to us as we anticipate the July arrival of our baby girl.  Joe and his twin sister will also celebrate their birthdays in July along with a nephew, my brother, mother and a couple of our closest friends.  We have such an exciting month and summer awaiting us.

I hope everyone cherishes the time they have with their kids and families, and not let the moments rush by without making them special.

Here is what I recommend, make an iced cold pitcher of homemade lemonade, listen to "Maybe it was Memphis" on your front porch (a Pam Tillis country classic), while absorbing the simplistic loveliness of summer.
(*yes, that video was made in 1991).

Happy 4th of July friends!
