"To be a free spirit is provocative"

I am drawn to free people because I had so little of it in my early years.  It is much like my one year old niece on her first birthday tasting ice cream for the first time and devouring it like a mad child then later begging for more "cream"!

I am attracted to the liberation of a person who doesn't give a damn about what others think, someone who isn't afraid to break rank and conformity to be an original, and someone who has a courageous core and trusts in the love of God and others.  Freedom inspires me to no end.

An excerpt of "Our Deepest Fear" by Marianne Williamson
"....And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

People are often frightened by liberated people because they tend to violate social norms, political correctness and popular opinion. They defy what most people deem as acceptable, responsible and dignified.

Now I have a few shout-outs to provocative people in my life who inspire freedom.  Thank you...

-My husband for accepting and loving me (and my spontaneity).  You celebrate when I go out dancing until 2:00 am with my girlfriends.  You never shame me for loving a good party nor do you try to restrain me.  Trust has given us the gift of security and fostered freedom.  Thank you big time.

-Mick Jagger for your weird dance moves and flaunting them, and for music that breaks the rules.

-Emily Baumann for being my favorite free bird of all.  I love that you have committed yourself to unconditional love which is why I could tell you my worst thoughts and still feel safe.

-Christine Wilson for being a true creative filled with the full measure of love. I can only describe you as pure beauty.

-Steve & Dora Manuel for being the Body of Christ and healing a broken-winged bird when her life was in utter crisis and calamity.

-Brian Regan for humor that never makes me feel dirty, but jolts my heart into intoxicating joy!  I relish laughing at your jokes.

-Erin McIntire for demonstrating what it means to be a worshiper in Spirit and in truth.  The Nicholsons for the same reason.

-Kelly Russell for having a bold voice that is uniquely yours and encouraging my self-acceptance.

- To artists who inspire me by writing books, creating film, fashion, music, and numerous other creative pursuits.

-For all my friends and family that have been truth-tellers, heroes of the faith, sources of laughter and light..thank you!

I fully rebel against a life of duty and meeting expectations.  I commit myself to a daring and passionate life.  I am committed to freedom and boldness, and therefore, a provocative life.
