Valentine's Day for the Music Lover!
I met my dear handsome husband at a Valentine's Day fundraiser for American Heart Association.
I will never forget the moment I saw him looking so smart in his navy blue turtleneck. It is seared in my heart and memory forevermore. We made eye contact with each other throughout the night. I liked that he was bold enough to be a man in a turtleneck. I liked his lips. When I met him I appreciated how shy and smart he was. There was a detective quality about him that kept me intrigued and engaged. I am still allured by him.
In celebration of Valentine's Day, I prepared a list of ideas for lovers and especially music lovers. Each gift or romantic experience listed below is paired with a song. It's your V-Day playlist, if you will...
1.) Candlelight bubble bath with chilled champagne. Add chocolate truffles for extravagance.
*Stay with you by John Legend
2.) Stargazing in the back of an old Chevy. Bring a picnic basket, comfy pillows, and big wool blankets.
*Sinatra
*Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine
3.) Tiffany's Picasso Pepper pendant for your hot tamale (especially if she has a daughter named Pepper)!
*La Tortura by Shakira & Alejandro Sanz
(if this song doesn't heat you up, check your pulse).
4.) If your darling is dark and lovely, give her Coco Chanel's Noir with the below scripture written in Hebrew.
“While the king was at his table,
My perfume gave forth its fragrance.
“My beloved is to me a pouch of myrrh
Which lies all night between my breasts.
“My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms
In the vineyards of Engedi.”
“How beautiful you are, my darling,
How beautiful you are!
Your eyes are like doves.”
“How handsome you are, my beloved,
And so pleasant!
- Song of Solomon 1:12-16
*Just Like Heaven by Katie Melua
5.) His old college t-shirt, or a mens-inspired nightshirt by J.Crew (and a massage).
* Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band
(my husband's fave band while at UVA)
6.) Set up a tent and fire pit in your backyard. Have softs light and...
*Kings of Leon's Sex on Fire
7.) Take your love on a beach vacation, plan a sunset dinner on the beach with a message in a bottle hidden in the sand . Write whatever you want in that message...
*Crazy love by Ray Charles
Happy Valentine's Day!
