Backpacking with the Boys.
A grand adventure awaits us in France this weekend. Joe, Seattle and I are going on a two-day excursion along with a group of like-minded adventurers to Baume-les-Messieurs (shown in picture above) one of the most beautiful villages in France (Jura mountains).
On the way, we will visit the splendid site of “Cascade du Hérisson”. It is about a 3-hour walk along the river with a passageway under the waterfall. We will also experience the underground world visiting the cave of Moidons and Baume-les-Messieurs.
The program on Saturday:
- departure at 8:00 am (Geneva)
- walking-trekking at the “Cascade du Hérisson” 10:30 am
- picnic from 12 to 1 pm
- end of trekking around 3 pm
- visit of the cave of Moidons
- check-in at the Abbey B&B at 6 pm
- dinner
The program on Sunday:
- breakfast
- visit of the Abbey
- lunch
- visit of the cave of Baume-les-Messieurs and its famous waterfall
- departure and arrival at 6 – 7 pm (Geneva)
I am not good at peeing in the woods or staying sweaty and dirty for long periods of time, yet I love a grand adventure. We will post photos should we survive.
Born to be wild!
D & J
Ps. Staying at a historic B&B doesn't quite count as "backpacking" does it?
